Meet Our Coaches

Matt Corry | Owner

Coach Corry grew up in the Philippines and at a very young age learned to love the game of tennis when he would ball-boy for 5 Pesos (.25 cents) per match. He played two years of high school tennis in Kentucky, after moving back to the U.S. at age 16 and earned a scholarship to play at the University of the Cumberlands. He spent two summers coaching players from 25+ countries at Saddlebrook (Harry Hopman Tennis Academy), which was the #2 tennis academy in the U.S. at the time. He also coached clinics in China with Michael Chang (former world #2). Coach Corry has 17 seasons as a head coach, working with both boys and girls teams, and over 23+ years as a private tennis coach.

Assistant Coaches

MC Tennis would not be possible without our amazing assistant coaches, who all bring significant and valuable experience to the players they coach. These coaches are an integral part of our year-round middle and high school clinics, community tennis nights and tournaments. During parks and recreation clinics - you will see them coaching older youth, adults or managing our junior coaches.

Several of our assistant coaches also give private and small-group lessons.

Marcel Borhi

Marcel started playing tennis at the age of three and spent several months of his childhood training at a high performance tennis academy in Spain. He played three years of varsity tennis at Bloomington South High School where he was part of three sectional championship teams (his freshman year was spent training in Europe). His senior year, Marcel finished 3rd in the state in doubles. He is now studying computer science at Indiana University.

Tim Couch

Coach Tim played #1 singles for Trine University. He has continued to be a life-long tennis player, winning multiple City Championships as an adult. He continues playing in adult leagues while also serving as an assistant coach with the Bloomington South Boys Tennis Program.

Erinn Drone

Coach Erinn grew up in a tennis family and played #3 varsity singles for three years at Jasper High School. She was coached by Ed Yarbrough and Mike O’Connell in Jasper and these two remarkable coaches helped lead the team to the position of state runner-up her senior year. She believes dedication, mental toughness, and attitude are the essentials to success. Erinn has professionally worked with youth in education for 20+ years and currently is a Career Coach at Indiana University O’Neill School. She continues to play competitively with various groups in Bloomington and in USTA competitions.

He played an active role in developing the tennis abilities of his three sons (some of the highest performing tennis talent to come out of Bloomington) and continues to play himself in weekly adult leagues. Ray joined Bloomington South as an assistant tennis coach in 2020 and is a big component of our year round programming.
